Web research: how volume gaming channels produce
Compiled 2026-10-25. Every fact has a URL. UNCONFIRMED = no primary source found. "Measured" = my own pull of each channel's public /videos tab with yt-dlp on 2026-10-25 (long-form tab only; YouTube gives relative dates, so counts are approximate). Raw files: /tmp/niche_volume/cadence4/.
Bottom line
- No sampled top Roblox/Minecraft/GTA channel posts near 5 long-form videos a day. Highest measured: about 1 to 1.7 a day.
- YouTube says it does not use upload count to decide recommendations and sets no daily recommendation cap, but warns views per video can fall if you exhaust your audience, and caps new-video notifications at 3 per channel per 24 h.
- The documented "spam" model is a company: editors paid per video, fed pre-cut gameplay, 3 to 4 videos per editor per week, across many channels.
- Vendor data on gaming channels: about 20 to 40 uploads a month (roughly daily) did best; 40+ a month did worse. Correlational.

3. What YouTube said (verbatim; transcripts pulled with yt-dlp)
Creator Insider, "Trending Topics, Deleting Comments, Experimenting, and Optimizing Uploads- YOUR Questions Answered!", 2022-03-10, Rachel, "a product manager on YouTube's recommendation system": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQGawhkMiiM
- "Our systems have never actually optimized or used signals about how many videos a channel uploads to determine whether or not they should be recommended. We do use a viewer's watch history however. ... uploading more often doesn't necessarily mean that viewers will watch everything you upload and uploading less doesn't mean those videos won't also get a fair chance. So just know that you shouldn't feel pressure to upload daily or weekly."
Creator Insider, "5 Search and Discovery Questions Answered by YouTube Employees!", 2020-10-30, Rachel with Todd Beaupré (answerer is Rachel by caption turn order, not confirmed on video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4qXzri4rd0
- "So no, there's no limit on how many videos can be recommended to a given viewer from a channel in a single day. You can upload as much as you want, and how much viewers are willing to watch depends on their individual preferences. ... But if you are uploading more videos than usual, and you start noticing that they're receiving fewer views per video, that is an indicator you may have exhausted your audience and uploaded too much that they're not willing to watch."
- "Batch uploads can actually be a really effective strategy at getting people to watch more."
- "...if you upload more than three videos in a given 24 hour period, the notifications limit is that viewers can get a maximum of three new video notifications per channel in that 24 hour period."
- Todd Beaupré: "We want each video to get out to the audience that's gonna watch it and enjoy it."

4. Published analyses
- vidIQ, 10,210,278 channels, Apr 2025 to Mar 2026, published 2026-07-08: median monthly view growth 0.53% (<1 upload/month), 0.89% (1-3), 1.32% (4-7), 1.70% (8-11), 2.18% (12+). "This study shows correlation, not causation." Channel growth, not views per video. https://vidiq.com/research/youtube-upload-frequency-study/
- AIR Media-Tech, 18,000 channels, updated 2026-06-08 (vendor): gaming median subs by uploads per month: <2: 37,500; 5-10: 44,800; 10-20: 57,700; 20-40: 69,800; 40+: 52,000. "Over-posting" is never defined. Outcome is subscribers, not views per video. https://air.io/en/audience-growth/does-posting-more-on-youtube-help-we-studied-18000-channels-to-find-out
- Metricool, 799,718 videos from 71,177 accounts, dated 2026-07-29: "each individual video performs best at 2 to 4 posts per week, averaging 10,552 views per post."; 4-7 a week gives "only about 6% more views"; "Posting more than 7 times a week actually pulls total monthly views down." https://metricool.com/youtube-trends/
- OverseerOS, 2,543 gaps across 53 channels, 2026-08-14: breakout rate flat across gap bands (p = 0.895); "It does not prove frequency never matters." Exploratory. https://www.overseeros.com/blog/youtube-upload-frequency-study
- vidIQ blog 2020 (anecdotal): large Minecraft channels can upload daily because they are "established, often full-time, and sometimes have teams"; author ran out of ideas "after about 50 days or 50 videos". https://vidiq.com/blog/post/youtube-views-upload-gaming-videos-every-day/
- A dataset plotting views per video against uploads per day for gaming: none found, UNCONFIRMED.
Gaps
- Interviews on team and process for Maizen, Flamingo, Mikecrack, Zozo, Jandel, Sub, Techno Gamerz.
- GTA RP is not a volume niche in this sample: Treyten shows at least 14 long-form in 12 months (exact-date sample, some items dropped) (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCk9xNdmgY8im4RDCops9YYw/videos).
- The 2026-09-01 Creator Insider transcript needs a manual read for frequency lines.
